Hike at Waterfall Glen - October 15, 2017

We are planning to hike at Waterfall Glen on Sunday, October 15th.

Please meet at Mill Street Elementary starting at 12:30pm. We will form a caravan and depart to Waterfall Glen at 1:00pm. We expect to return from the hike by 4:00pm. *Please note that a parent must accompany their scout on this hike* 

Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve is located in Lemont, IL.

Three Fires Council - STEMapalooza - October 14, 2017

Please Note To Avoid Confusion this is a different event than the Council's Stem-o-rama at Sandwich Fair Grounds

Earn a Cub Scout Nova Award While adults learn to become an Asst. Stem Instructor.

October 14th, 2017 from 9am to 12pm at Technology Center of Dupage

Cost: Youth Session: $10  / Optional Adult Session: $10

Open to Wolf Scouts (2nd Grade) through Webelos/Arrow of Light Scouts (5th Grade):

  • Swing
  • Experiments with Carbon Dioxide: Science Everywhere
  • The Wonders of A Drop of Water: Science Everywhere

All sessions will run from 9AM until 12 PM .  All Cub Scouts will receive information upon registration about those activities that need to be completed on their own prior to October 14th, 2017.

Fall Campout - September 23-24, 2017

The Fall Campout will be held at the Von Oven campground in Naperville on September 23rd-24th.  You can arrive at the campground any time after 3pm on the 23rd.  Sign up is here.

STEM-O-Rama 2017

STEM-O-Rama, (science, technology, engineering and math) on September 29th and 30th. At the sandwich fair grounds.  Over 100 troops are preparing table displays (Drones, hatchet throwing, rockets and much, much more) for cub scouts and their family’s to experience. Any family member 6 and older may participate.


STEM only comes around every 4 years.

Saturday day only pass is just $10.00 per person. Events start with the morning 5 k at 7am and continue until the evening fireworks.

Whole family day passes are $40.00

If you want to camp starting Friday night to Sunday morning it’s just $25.00 per camper for all 3 days.

2017 Spring Campout May 12-13

2017 Mill St Pack 562 Pack Field Trip - Ski / Snow Board Outing

What:        Mill St Pack 562 Pack Field Trip - Ski / Snow Board Outing
When:       Friday, Feb 10th
                  5pm - For those not taking a lesson, the ski hill is open for skiing / snowboarding
                  7pm - lessons start for those signed up (suggest to arrive 45 mins ahead to get rentals, etc.)
Location:  Four Lakes Recreation - 6005 Forest View Rd, Lisle, IL 60532

2017 Pinewood Derby

The 2017 Pinewood Derby will be held Jan 28 at 5:00 PM (tentative) at the Mill Street School Multi Purpose Room.  Don't miss this exciting event.

"Winter" cabin campout Nov 4 - 6, 2016

Date: November 4 thru 6th, 2016
Location: Camp Hoover  (11285 Fox Road, Yorkville IL  (website)

Cost: $20/family to help cover the additional cost of the cabin.
Contact Dennis Ford 312 835 7255 with any questions.

Please bring sleeping bags/pillow, toiletries, flashlights, reusable water cup/bottle labelled for each attendee and scouts should have Class B T-Shirts for Saturday.  Dress for weather, we have outdoor activities planned.

Friday Evening
6-8PM  - Arrival is anytime between 6-8PM; please let me know if you plan to arrive later than 8PM.  **Families should eat before they come Friday night.
7:30 Campfire w/s’mores &  "cracker barrel" (Cheese/crackers/sausage) for snacks
Activities: Cards/werewolf

Saturday Morning:
8AM Breakfast: Waffles, Sausage, Oatmeal, Fruit, Coffee, Tea, Milk, Juice
9AM 7:00 Opening Flag ceremony & Morning hike to the River (on the grounds Camp Hoover)
Whittling (need 2 scout leaders/parents to lead this) 
11AM - pack-up and depart for those not returning for Saturday night

Saturday Afternoon: As all scouts/parents have indicated they are leaving for afternoon activities (Including Webelos II that have a Boy Scout Open House to go to) we will lock up the Cabin at 11AM and plan to return for Evening Activities  at 4PM

4PM Re-Open the Cabin for Saturday arrivals
Arrival until Dinner - Outdoor activites
6PM Dinner: Trumped-Up-Tots (make your own Hash Brown, Chicken, Ham, Veggies, Cheese, Seasoning) over a "charcoal fire” & Dutch Oven Desert (Jared wink-wink)
7:30 After Dinner Hike around Camp Hoover followed by Campfire/skits, songs, s’mores
Activities: Cards/free time/games

Sunday Morning
8AM Breakfast: Waffles, Sausage, Oatmeal, Fruit, Coffee, Tea, Milk, Juice
Morning hike to the River (on the grounds Camp Hoover)
Pack-up and Depart by 12PM

Drinks: Water and Lemonade offered throughout campout; coffee/tea, Milk, juice available upon request

There are three locations for outside popcorn sales in 2016 (all addresses are in Naperville, IL):

Sep 17: Alive Center, 500 W. 5th Avenue, each hour from 1 pm ending at 4 pm

Oct 1-2: Jewel Osco, 127 E. Ogden Avenue, each hour from 9 am ending at 4 pm

Oct 22-23: Buikema's Ace Hardware, 1030 N. Washington St,each hour from 9 am ending at 4 pm

Each shift can accommodate 2 scouts.  Each scout must have a parent or guardian with him
