Welcome to our pack! The information here will help you understand how your child will particpate in scouting.
The scout rank is determined by your son's grade in school. For example 1st grade boys will be working toward their Tiger Cub badge, 2nd grade boys will be working on their wolf badge, etc. The ranks are as follows:
- Tiger Cub
- Wolf
- Bear
- Webelos I (Webelos one)
- Webelos II (Webelos two)
Den meetings typically are two times a month and are deteremined by the leader's availabilty and the den. During den meetings the children work on advancement, crafts, play games, Tiger Cub parents are required to attend all meetings.
Pack meetings are held once a month and have a theme of which den meetings may be aligned. Some of the past activities included, Pinewood Derby, Fire safety, Crime Scene Investigation by a CS Technician, Space Derby, Blue and Gold Dinner, Scout Carnival, and many others.
Outings are typically held once a month. Some of our past outings were miniature golf, Kane County Cougars game, Campfires, Illinois Railway Museum, Ice Skating, Conservation Projects to name a few.
Supplies- for graduating boys books and scarves are supplied by the pack. For children that are new to the pack they must have a book, a scarve and a uniform. These can be picked up at the local Scouting supply store. We suggest buying a shirt that is big enough for the child to grow into over the next 5 years. Some boys wear hats and others do not.
Uniforms are how scouts show advancement.

- 562 White and red numeral patches (left sleeve)
- Three Fire Council patch (left sleeve)
- US Flag (right sleeve)
- Den numeral (assigned by the committee)
- Neckerchief and slide based on rank
- Tiger - Orange
- Wolves - Yellow
- Bears - Blue
- Webelos - Plaid
Dues - Your first year in scouting there is a fee of $40.00 of which part goes to the council and the other part goes to the pack. This fee helps defer the cost of operating a pack. Each year we have popcorn and wreath sales. Each child that sells a minimum of
$250.00 in merchandise will automatically have his dues paid for the following year. Children are expected to participate in the sales as this generates money used to defer all other activities that our pack does throughout the year. We only have one fundraising activity each year.
Leaders - Do you want to lead a group or actively participate in pack or den meetings? We can always use help please see a committee member or your leader for more information.
Submit Documentation - Please submit your Cub Scout Application, Medical form (if you have it ready), and a check payable for $40.00 to Pack 562 to Scot Meyer, 341 Cottonwood Lane, Naperville, IL 60540.
